career.We are hiring a Development Director, School Engagement
serving the West-Central Illinois area.In this position, you will
be responsible for implementing the Association's Kids Heart
Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs. You will liaise
with school-based coordinators, (typically P.E. Teachers/school
principals/superintendents) to raise funds through our educational
fundraising program while working with 80+ participating schools in
the West and Central Illinois area, with potential for a few
schools in eastern Missouri.This position is home based/remote and
can be located anywhere inSt. Clair, IL county or surrounding
counties (including eastern St. Louis, MO. This opportunity
requires travel in your assigned territory approximately 70% of the
time. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting
schools, building relationships with volunteers, coaching schools
to achieve goals and presenting at school kick-off assemblies.
Ability to travel to schools prior to start time or after school
day has ended.We offer a competitive base salary with the potential
to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential
incentive is based on achieving certain team revenue targets.The

locally and through our National Center.ResponsibilitiesKey
responsibilities include:
- Selling our lifesaving mission to local schools through
prospecting and securing school participation while providing tools
and training to help schools establish and meet their fundraising
goals.
- Presenting in front of large groups of students to get them
excited about the Kids Heart Challenge.
- Recruiting and leading positive relationships with volunteers,
while ensuring overall success of the programs.
- This position has a fundraising net goal this year of
approximately $300,000. You must exceed ambitious fundraising goals
by developing effective customer relationships, through time
management, persuasion, organization, competitiveness, and
persistence.
- Representing the American Heart Association in a positive way
through relationship building and community
networking.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, including shown
success in sales or fundraising preferred.
- Ability to work evenings and drive locally approximately 60% of
the time. (Please note that the amount of time spent out in the
field can fluctuate based on time of year.)
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist
level.
- Proficient knowledge and skill with office-related computer
programs used for word processing, email, and
