Product Management will be responsible and accountable for US
Motors' product portfolio. This candidate will be responsible for
driving the modernization of each product line while also weaving
in the digital enhancements and technology roadmap to manage and
protect the current customer base.Job DescriptionResponsibilities
Include:The Director of Product Management will be responsible and
accountable for US Motors' product portfolio. This candidate will
be responsible for driving the modernization of each product line
while also weaving in the digital enhancements and technology
roadmap to manage and protect the current customer base. The
Director in this role should have the ability to collaborate across
a diverse group of internal stakeholders & regional partners,
effectively manage multiple priorities and demands, and possess a
deep understanding of electric motors and drive solutions. This
candidate will own the daily product management and performance of
each product and cultivate ongoing product ideas & development
necessary to support new use cases and market relevancy. This
individual will play a critical role in future proofing our
electric motor/drive strategies and the solutions necessary
including any enhancements to the value propositions, with a
particular focus on the evolution of our industry into a digital
driven life. This candidate should be intellectually curious,
energetic, an initiative-taker and able to operate with a sense of
urgency. In addition, the role requires an individual who can
demonstrate discipline in prioritizing efforts, and the ability to
be comfortable managing through ambiguity. Candidate needs to have
effective communication skills with an ability to refine and adjust
communication to gain support/sponsorship from Executive
Management, and experience in driving execution and alignment with
commercial teamsDuties:
- Oversees and is answerable to the USM Platform President and
ACIM Chief Product Officer for all activities of the product
management department.
- Oversees and ensures that the functions of the Associate
Product Manager, Product Manager, and Senior Product Manager are
efficiently and effectively executed.
- Consulting with cross-functional departments (engineering,
marketing, sales & operations) to translate the product needs into
requirements and to drive consensus within the product departments,
which promotes the achievement of the product goals.
- Taskedwith the analysis of information and formulations of
product solutions and strategies that are presented and refined to
support profitable growth of the business
- Responsible for building an understanding and cultivate the
product vision, financial plan, and technology roadmap to drive
product initiatives with clarity and consensus
- Responsible for developing, defining, and overseeing the
product's roadmap and managing it as required for the purpose of
meeting deliverables for the business.
- Incorporating the existing development backlog and makes
priorities as determined by the business, customer, and market
needs.
- Engaged extensively with market managers and customers to gain
firsthand insight on the customer's and market feedback on the
product portfolio
- Securing Product or Products, order intake and gross margin in
line with the annual budget.
- Collaborating intimately with the cross functional teams
(engineering, marketing sales & operations) to develop product line
strategies with the goal of increasing market share through
profitable growth
- Tasked with representing the business and promoting the product
by advocating for its value and benefits at executive briefings,
marketing events, customer visits, and so forth.
- Performing other duties as required by the President of USM,
ACIM Chief Product Officer or the Employer.
- End-to-end product ownership protecting existing revenue and
market penetration, enhancement feature/functionality deployment
and support, thought leadership on competition and industry trends,
sales enablement, performance monitoring & measurement, and
operational health oversight.
- Partnering with marketing and sales teams to identify new
customer opportunities or new use cases, formulation of execution
plans, and integration Go-To-Market activities of those business
development opportunities.
- Defining and periodically refreshing each product roadmap with
the Manager of Project Management to ensure value is expressed and
delivered to customers, and new & existing market opportunities are
maximized.
- Managing and communicating product performance through standard
dashboard reporting and identifies any metrics of concern. ---
- Influences and collaborates with a diverse group of regional
and global stakeholders to include Product, Finance, Legal, Account
Managers, Operational & Technical Teams.Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:
- Experience in a core industry, and preferably to have
collaborated with an End-user for a period.
- Exceptional understanding of the Product Management role and
demonstrate the ability to work in multi-cultural,
multi-disciplined teams.
- Master's Degree in Product Leadership, Business Administration,
Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent in
work experience.
- 5-7 years' experience in performance of functions as a Product
Manager with a proven history in product planning, defining, and
launching successful products, unifying product portfolios, and
working with PaaS/SaaS product lines, preferably with electric
motors & drives
- Experience in thought leadership to be better positioned to
drive and inspire such a large and important department.
- Possesses excellent communication skill both in verbal and in
written form.
- Superior ability to synthesize diverse and complex information
and data and design refined strategies, solutions, workflows, and
procedures
- Excellent leadership qualities and can influence and inspire
the product management team in applying various approaches or
strategies for the product portfolio
- Acting as a coach/mentor for product managers to offer guidance
in the performance of their functions and readying them for the
assumption of the director's position in his absence or
retirement.
- Must have excellent people skills and not just leadership
skills to enable the creation of long-lasting working relationships
with customers and well as facilitation of smooth collaboration and
performance of functions internally.
- Must be proficient in MS Office tools
- Must be able to perform and complete tasks in a timely fashion;
adheres to workplace procedures, policies, and ethics; is a
creative thinker who can develop product solutions on

face of immense workload and pressure.
- Ability to travel at least 20% to support plant, customer
