About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Independent Testing Officer in Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) as part of Corporate Risk . The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. The Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) T&V Lead Independent Testing Officer, will be responsible for executing a risk-based control testing program to assess compliance with significant regulatory requirements and applicable corporate policies as well as assessing the design and operational effectiveness of business processes. The Officer must ensure adherence to the Independent Monitoring, Testing, and Validation Policy as well as other associated polices such as the Issue Management Policy. The Officer leads and executes review activity engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicates emerging risks to management. The Officer performs effective and timely testing-related independent credible challenge internally; completes all documentation and appropriately retains all work papers (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.); and escalates issues identified during review. This position reports to an Independent Testing Director or Senior Manager.In this role, you will:

  • Leads and executes moderate to high risk or complex review activities/engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicates emerging risks to management.
  • Completes review activities on schedule. Raises schedule delays to the review activity lead with proposed resolution plans. Creates schedules for reviews.
  • Escalates any potential issues discovered during the completion of review activities to a review lead. Identifies potential corrective actions, and follows through on reporting, escalation, and resolution. Performs effective and timely testing-related independent credible challenge internally.
  • Completes all documentation and appropriately retains all work papers (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.). Solicits and aggregates emerging risks from teams as review activities are performed. Required Qualifications, US:
    • 5+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:
      • Proficiently builds constructive and effective relationships, and holds self accountable for delivering on commitments and renegotiates when needed.
      • Has proficient level of knowledge regarding testing topics, risk types, line of business process walkthroughs, test results, quality assurance, researching, and issue identification.
      • 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management.
      • Proficient at listening without interrupting or instantly judging; asks clarifying questions as needed.
      • Can proficiently evaluate both the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; while analyzing business and/or systems changes to determine impact.
      • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
