Job Description:
Position Overviewdormakaba is seeking a Distribution Development
Manager (DDM) to join our Sales department in Southern California.
This role will be responsible for creating sales opportunities in
an assigned region by marketing company product lines. This role
should expand end users' perception of dormakaba to that of a total
access control and hardware company. This position will develop and
maintain their geographic area of responsibility as assigned to
increase market share of the end user base.
- This position is Remote and can be located in Southern
California**Primary Duties
- Coordinates with their regional team to move opportunities
created by the team through our distribution partners to negotiate
and close deals
- Develops new end user opportunities by marketing company
product lines and offering value-added services to new construction
decision-makers through the distribution channel
- Maintains and manages existing Distributor network
relationships
- Develops strategies, tactics, and contingency plans to obtain
specific construction market share
- Partners with ACRs (Architectural Consultant Representative) to
provide architects with consultation and specifications services
for new construction projects
- Stays abreast of industry/territory knowledge and trends and
adapts to changes in the marketplace
- Works closely with teammates to achieve the monthly, quarterly,
and annual goals in place for their region or assigned
territory
- Works with their Regional Sales Manager to establish time
sensitive goals and objectives, receiving guidance and feedback
from Regional Sales Manager while work towards achieving these
agreed upon results within the stated time
- Develops strategies, tactics, and contingency plans to obtain
specific construction market share. Recommends deviations from
standard policies and procedures such as pre-purchase approvals for
payment, terms, discounts and freight charges. Maintain sclose
communication and coordination with established Distributors to
achieve mutually satisfactory solutions to end user concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned by sales leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant field
preferred
- 2-4+ years of sales experience
- 2+ years hardware industry and hollow metal preferred
- Must be able to make sales calls to and at distributor,
architect, and end user sites
- Works under general supervision and relies on general knowledge
and sales experience to achieve goals and deliver sales plans
- Knowledge of construction codes and building requirements
- Ability to make group presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the
ability to make group presentations
- Skills and experience with personal computers, including
electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, word processing and
electronic spreadsheet skills
