Edward Jones currently has more branch offices than any other financial services firm, and we continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors.Edward Jones has an exciting opportunity for an associate capable of delivering the technology operational resiliency program and solutions that will advance the strategies of a growing financial services organization.The associate will work closely with leadership to formalize the strategies, documentation, testing and automation of tech business continuity and disaster recovery analysis and planning. This motivated and driven individual will drive the development and execution of the program through close partnership with the firm's Business Continuity Program and stakeholders throughout the organization.Additionally, this role will be responsible for assessing current critical business processes in order to facilitate the design and implementation of resilient architectures from a security and operational standpoint. The goal is to transform traditional business continuity management disaster recovery plans and processes into agile, low impact, and high availability solutions. They will also integrate security controls within these processes to allow the security team to prevent and detect compromise of critical business processes. These architectures will be across a diverse set of workflows and technologies that are owned by various teams across the firm.This person will have a passion for technology, experience with complex systems, and can demonstrate excellence in business continuity and disaster recovery. Their experience in technology resiliency programs should include cloud (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.), on-premise data center, and Software as a Service financial industry solutions.The associate will be responsible for adherence to all regulatory, legal and compliance controls established and maintained as part of the resiliency program.Key Responsibilities

  • Implement our Technology Operational Resiliency framework to assist in identifying risks
  • Identify critical systems and operations that are crucial to the continued business operations in the event of a disaster
  • Work cross functionally with leadership and teams to coordinate and lead business continuity and disaster recovery exercises, identify and prioritize remediation, and track completion
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining business impact assessments and technology dependency maps
  • Plan and coordinate drills and tabletop exercises to ensure appropriate preparedness
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans and metrics to ensure the security and integrity of technology systems and data while championing program improvement opportunities
  • Own process-based remediation items identified in exercises, collaborating with partner teams to design new processes and policies that close gaps
  • Maintain compliance with all standards, regulations, and requirements
  • Test operational resilience of programs
  • Create reports as needed for different levels of leadership, covering all aspects of operational resiliency
  • Align team activities, strategies, responsibilities and objectives with the firm's strategic direction.
  • Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g. resource management and support processes).
  • Ensure the execution and quality of enhancements, support and projects.
  • Understanding of the team's systems, processes and technologies
  • Manages and develops self while internalizing leadership feedback.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across teams, departments, divisions and vendors
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors while aligning to the firm's objectives.Preferred Qualifications in the Job
    • 5+ years of experience in operational resiliency, business continuity, disaster recovery, or related risk assessment and remediation at a technology or financial services organization is a plus
    • Strong technical aptitude with project management skills, capable of learning emerging products and creating plans to support the business
    • Experience with Azure & AWS-built environments, SaaS provider architecture, and cloud-based disaster recovery methodology
    • Outstanding communicator and writer; experience with drafting project plans across multiple stakeholders, holding teams accountable to their deliverables, and producing final reports
    • Finely tuned ability to risk rank multiple high priority items and advocate successfully for technical teams
    • Experience in Agile Framework with familiarity of SAFe Principles, and story development/refinement/delivery a preference
    • Experience in defining, implementing and ensuring risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while still meeting deliverables
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or related work experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to Technology with at least 1 year in a leadership role (mentoring associates, lead analyst, project leaders, etc.) preferred
    • Strong technical knowledge of operational resilience and security controls specifically in
    • systemically critical companies.
    • Prefer Business Continuity Certification (CBCP, MBCP, BCCE, etc.) and knowledgeable and experienced in crisis management best practices
