The Investment Manager Research Analyst 2 is responsible for helping lead the recommendation process for separately managed accounts, mutual funds (and alternative strategies managed inside mutual funds), limited partnerships, ETF's, offshore funds and REIT's through implementation of a disciplined due diligence process designed to improve the probability of a better investment outcome for clients of Wells Fargo.Duties include:
      • On-going oversight and documentation of the due diligence status of all products on the approved and supported lists, including answering in-bound calls from investment professionals who have questions about the recommendations and/or selection methodology used to generate the list
      • Responsible for drafting communications to the field. Communications include changes in status of money managers, research opinions, and manager recommendations by style, etc.
      • Conducting on-site due diligence pursuant to Wells Fargo's evaluation criteria
      • Performing risk analysis on outside investment products using Wells Fargo's process
      • Preparation of all Due Diligence Committee meeting materials, peer group comparisons, research opinions, etc.
      • Assisting with the on-boarding of new managers/products;
      • Supporting Wells Fargo's Tear Sheet production process and other Business Initiatives critical to the group's success
      • Assisting with the monthly data requests/updates to managers and coordinating with other business groups throughout
      • The successful candidate will be expected to maintain current due diligence opinions and documentation that meet enterprise standards with an emphasis on alternative investments and/or individual private companies.Preferred WFII locations are Charlotte, NC or St. Louis, MO. Relocation assistance is not available.Required Qualifications
        • 3+ years of investment experience
        • 2+ years of advanced asset analysis experienceDesired Qualifications
          • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
          • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
          • 5+ years of financial services industry experience
          • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
          • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
          • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or demonstrated progress toward the designation
          • Experience in money manager researchOther Desired Qualifications
            • Prior experience valuing individual private companies; knowledge and understanding of various valuation methodologies
            • Knowledge and understanding of investment products and services, including alternative investments
            • Knowledge and understanding of analyzing financial statements, corporate actions, contracts, and other governing documents
            • Knowledge and understanding of wealth and investment management
            • Experience with Morningstar, FactSet and Advent Tamale RMSJob Expectations
