The singular focus for the VP, Business Development will be leading We Are Alexander to new business success. As a member of the agency leadership team, this driven, entrepreneurial leader will set the business development strategy for the agency, identify and actively pursue "right-to-win" opportunities and new prospects. This leader must be an inspiring presenter, with the unique ability to quickly identify prospect needs and champion the agency as the solution. Internally, this leader must be capable of driving enthusiasm among colleagues and various support teams. Experienced in the business development process and its many stages, this leader must have the innate ability to know when investing in our many internal resources is prudent. Ultimately, this leader has a proven track record of achievement that can be parlayed to deliver significant personal and professional success at the agency.Essential Functions:

  • Create long-term value for We Are Alexander, developing customers, markets, service offerings, and relationships:
    • prepare and execute actionable targeted plan for new business that aligns with company objectives for growth and revenue goals
    • lead development and execution of organic new business RFPs and agency capabilities presentations
    • understand the entire agency service offering, what we do well, what we believe in and be capable of enthusiastically championing it
    • bring a wealth of marketing and agency contacts in a multitude of industries
    • A passion for marketing:
      • must be a student of trends, opportunities, brands, consumers, media, the retail environment and market disruptions
      • ability to speak fluently and confidently on various marketing topics
      • willingness and curiosity to learn and grow marketing acumen
      • Uncover and develop actionable agency-selling insights for the leadership team:
        • establish and maintain strong working relationships with agency leaders and subject matter experts, becoming their go-to resource for all business development support
        • own and steer all existing business development resources leveraging Business Intelligence technology and outbound marketing efforts to ensure alignment across teams
        • Develop best practices:
          • standardize the entire business development process
          • manage, create and improve current sales tools, resources and presentations
          • drive day-to-day deliverables and reportingEducation, Experience, and Skills:
            • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing
            • 10+ years of business development experience in marketing/agency environments
            • Strong knowledge of marketing, communications, and creative services across the CPG landscape
            • Entrepreneurial mindset: strong drive and work ethic, proven success in finding new opportunities, desiring to create new value and facilitate innovation and problem solving
            • Exceptional communication - i.e. storytelling - and collaboration skills, with the ability to convert prospects into clients
            • Skilled at Keynote, with the ability to create a presentation that delivers business solutions.
            • Understanding of relationship building process including strategy, approach, execution, and delivery
            • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent time management
            • Strong business judgment/acumen
            • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, but also within a larger agency environment
            • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects and stakeholders in a high-pressure environment
            • Flexibility and agility to adapt to change, comfortable with ambiguityTravel:
