A typical branch office has one financial advisor who meets with clients face-to-face and one branch office administrator who enhances the team's ability to build deep relationships with clients. Headquarters associates in St. Louis and Tempe provide support and expertise to help U.S. and Canada branch teams deliver an ideal client experience. Edward Jones currently has more branch offices than any other financial services firm, and we continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors. Responsible for overseeing the current and future technology of the Edward Jones-- Canadian business segment which includes planning, strategy development and tactical decision-making for the firm; work in partnership to execute objectives and activities with other teams; participate in creating and communicating the big picture (including priorities); ensure prudent use of the firm--s financial resources; participate in resource allocation for best interests of Edward Jones; develop and implement a personnel structure that supports successful achievement of objectives in their specific area of responsibilities; implement a robust people process to find, train, support, retain and advance a winning team; develop a successful plan for their role and the leaders they are responsible for; challenge and contribute knowledge, time and expertise to find answers. Serve as a driver and advocate of the Edward Jones' Canadian business segment technology. The Director will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to evaluate processes, systems, tools and methodologies and work in partnership with the US Technology leadership team to develop and integrate strategic technology for Canada.

  • Bachelor's degree required, degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or Mathematics preferred or related work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Wealth Management Technology domain demonstrating strong career progression in the industry is required.
  • Experience should include supporting existing software or hardware environments, project leadership, designing technical solutions, large implementations to production environments, multi-national systems, process design, team building, mid and long- range planning, resource allocation/leveling and people leadership (feedback, recruiting, hiring, termination, development plans).
  • Leadership, strategy and communication skills required.
  • Experience leading globally dispersed multi-cultural teams within a global and complex organization.
  • Well-versed in establishing, monitoring and executing plans and metrics.
  • Must be able to navigate highly complex issues in a dynamic, matrixed environment requiring influence and demonstrated management of differing views from multiple stakeholders
  • Must be able to travel to US on a regular basis. Work permit may be required (TBD).
