The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Air Vehicle Structures Senior Manager to support Bombers and Fighters portfolio located to work on the St Louis site located in Berkeley, MO. As an Air Vehicle Structures Senior Manager, you will lead a team in developing structural systems on a Proprietary program within the Bombers and Fighters portfolio. This is a phenomenal opportunity to lead and execute development excellence on an amazingly difficult and critically important program. Position Responsibilities * Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. * Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. * Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. * Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. * Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. * Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St Louis, MO. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) * Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. * 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry * 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams * Currently a manager or previously held a manager position * Ability to travel 10% of time Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering * 5+ years of full time aerospace industry experience within Mechanical, Structural, Payloads, Design or Analysis engineering * 5+ years of experience in Structural design * Experience using Boeing Non-Recurring Product Development (NRPD) or equivalent Boeing Development Processes * Experience utilizing Full Size Determinant Assembly * Experience utilizing Model Based Engineering * Experience leading Boeing Defense Air Vehicle Structural Design or Analysis tasks Typical Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
