Overview Primary function is to manage the Company's Credit/Collection, cash management, and other general treasury-related functions. Includes oversight of transactional functions related to billing/invoicing, cash processing and forecasting, and various other duties related to credit/cash management. Responsible for establishing and enforcing sound policies and procedures to protect company assets; works closely with Sales & Marketing and Customer Service groups to manage and optimize customer Credit/Collection process. Manages the credit and collection function in a manner that will help increase sales, profitability, cash conversion efficiency, and customer stability. Also includes supervision of other personnel handling related functions for Mississippi Lime Company. Requirements + Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. + Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a corporate finance setting required; min. 3 years in Credit/Collections function. + Knowledge: Strong knowledge of credit functions, basic internal controls, and general accounting concepts required. + Skills: Strong communication and people skills required. Supervisory experience preferred. + Team-oriented approach: Ability to foster balanced Credit/Collection approach between Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Customer Service teams. + Behaviors: Position is customer-facing and requires professionalism while firmly representing MLC's interest. Essential Functions + Formulates and recommends corporate credit policies to senior management and establishes general policies, procedures, and practices governing overall credit operations. Interprets and delegates the approved credit policies to the staff for dissemination and compliance. + Directs the granting of credit and collection of receivables. Exercise prudent judgment and control to attain maximum sales while protecting the company's assets. This entails the minimizing of bad debt losses while acknowledging the necessity for taking on reasonable risk. + Provides management reporting of all credit/cash functions, customer agings, cash flow forecasts, and special situations. Includes conduction regular collections update meeting with senior management. + Maintains and provides information systems and data necessary for the organization to make sound credit decisions. Works closely with IT and Finance to ensure ERP is accurate and has necessary internal controls in place. + Will provide insight and guidance on Accounts Receivable-related functions during the configuration and implementation of company's new ERP system. + Promote and maintain excellent cross-department relationships between Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of credit function. + Manages credit organization personnel, including outlining job duties of each position. Establishes and monitors standards of performance for all positions and ensures personal development of everyone in department. + Supervises banking functions including Lock box remittance, cash application, short term cash investments, checking, wire transfers, and ACH transmittals. Administrator of all On-line Banking Portals. + Responsible for daily banking reports to management, monthly journal entries for banking transfers, monthly bank reconciliations, and various other accounting/finance duties. + Initiates, develops, and maintains external relationships with customers, financial institutions, service agencies, credit organizations, attorneys, accountants, and others as required. Establishes similar relationships for subordinates. + Work closely with peers in MLC Finance to grow cross-functional skills and develop broad knowledge of MLC business strategies.
