Job Description:

Promotes a positive security culture for the organization by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and assets while assisting the company to successfully meet its strategic goals.
Leads the IT Governance team and is accountable for that team's performance. This role will drive success by creating and maintaining Key Performance Indicators. Serves as a leader and mentor within the Information Security organization and beyond, providing master level expertise from various IT disciplines with focus in information security. Champions teams and other business units to promote a secure organization through positive knowledge sharing, training, influences, and conduct.

Responsible and accountable for the IT Governance (Policy Management, Enterprise Security Framework, Data Governance) and NIST 800-53, 171, SOC1, 2, SOX, HITRUST. Serves as a leader and mentor within the Information Security organization and beyond, providing master level expertise from various IT disciplines with focus in IT Governance. Champions teams and other business units to promote a secure organization through positive knowledge sharing, training, influences, and conduct.

  • Leads teams responsible for the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure environment for Magellan Health.
  • Manages teams responsible for ensuring adequate security processes and solutions are in place to mitigate or remediate identified risks sufficiently to meet business objectives, contractual and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Delivers Key Performance indicators to drive success to leadership.
  • Accountable for the development, monitoring, and compliance of security policies, standards and plans to ensure the protection of corporate against unauthorized use, access, modification and destruction.
  • Accountable for the oversight and management of one or more functional areas within the Office of Information Security, including leadership and mentorship.
  • Leads or oversees incident response activities, ensuring security incidents are properly documented, contained, eradicated, and recovered.
  • Builds and maintains a highly engaged team. Leads team to execute on strategy and to continuously improve service levels. Cascades strategy through team and ensures team is resourced to focus on work that drives strategy. Demonstrates and holds team accountable for financial stewardship through the reduction of operational costs and improving throughput through self-service and automation. Ties performance to outcomes and strategy. Develops talent to ensure bench strength for key roles. Assists in leading team through change. Establish and maintain a communication cadence for individual updates, teams, customers, and other teams as needed to drive engagement and outcomes.
  • Researches and implements emerging technologies to enhance the security portfolio.
  • Demonstrates financial and fiscal stewardship and may participate in or have responsibility for development and oversight of a cost center/budget.
  • Ensures Magellan information security processes and solutions are protected against a failure or attack that reduces organizations ability to respond to security incidents.
  • Accountable for monitoring, system revisions and patches are up to date.
  • Proactively identifies risks and impact to all downstream systems in the corporate environment and their interconnectivity
  • Helps build and drive a security aware culture that understands security risks and impact to all corporate solutions
  • May manage teams that perform forensic analysis and risk assessments for the entire environment.
  • Oversees and manages teams that support enterprise high-availability solutions running a complex arrangement operating systems, including system updates, log analysis, access controls and backup. Other Job Requirements Responsibilities
    • 8+ years of related experience including mastery in a minimum of two business operations domains: IT Financial Management, IT Portfolio Management, Project Tracking and reconciliation, Audit and Controls, Metrics and Measurements, Vendor - Procurement management and Lean Management.
    • Should have moved across different departments within IT to gain a broader perspective of the business/industry.
    • Experience in health care, insurance or related field.
    • Critical thinker.
    • Demonstrated problem solving techniques.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
