This Vice President-level role is a newly created opportunity reporting directly to the President of Barry-Wehmiller Papersystems.--This role is responsible for defining, developing, launching, and maintaining a product portfolio that results in significant market share gains and organic growth that outpaces the market. This critical position provides leadership over Product Management, Engineering and Program Management functions for his/her respective product portfolio. The person selected will be responsible for all product planning and product development execution throughout the product lifecycle; gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements; defining the product vision and leading engineering to deliver winning products that support the company's overall strategy and goals. This role works with closely with Sales to ensure revenue growth, customer satisfaction and market share goals are met. This is a senior leadership opportunity within our global organization. Product Management, Engineering, and Program Management will all report up to the individual selected for this role.--RESPONSIBILTIIES: Market Assessment & Influence:

  • Leverage a deep understanding of emerging market and technology trends, competitive actions, and customer requirements to identify profitable growth for the Product Line opportunities
  • Assess and influence the industry by maintaining relationships with key customers, those they serve, industry associations and others influential industry stakeholders
  • Lead, assess and synthesize regular Voice of Customer activities Innovation:
    • Identify, assess and prove-out technical innovations that enhance the Product Line's position in the market Product Definition / Roadmap / Portfolio:
      • Lead Market Requirement Events
      • Determine the breadth and depth of the product offering with an emphasis on product performance, features, pricing, and market position that results in significant market share gains
      • Lead cross-functional efforts (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to translate requirements into prioritized innovation and/or product development initiatives that deliver sustainable, profitable market share expansion
      • Lead a global alignment process to define a global product roadmap that directs product development priorities
      • Define a financial plan for the Product Line, including establishing 3-year growth and profitability (gross profit) goals. Defining the role of each product's contribution to achieving the overall Product Line's financial target Strategic Marketing :
        • Develop effective Go-to-Market strategies that include clearly articulated unique selling propositions, positioning of the product in the market, competitive differentiation, and pricing
        • Provide Sales with clearly defined high potential market expectations (segments, customers, regions) combined with associated promotional tools, assets, and materials
        • Develop a marketing strategy by working with sales and marketing communications to support and promote new products and sales pursuits
        • Provide customer facing Product subject matter expertise in support of Sales pursuits Product Development:
          • Establish, apply, and follow a structured process & methodology for new product development. Manage the pipeline of projects at all stages of development from idea generation to product launch
          • Lead engineering teams in all new development projects including establishing design solutions, aligning resources, facilitating design reviews, building, and testing
          • Ensure product roadmap and development process drive maximum standardization and re-use R&D Project Execution:
            • Lead Program Management resources and activities resulting in successful execution of R&D projects with respect to delivering programs that hit target requirements, performance, cost, quality and are delivered on-schedule
            • Direct Program Management related customer interfacing activities to ensure successful product launches, meeting customer expectations and building customer trust KPIs:
              • Achieving targeted market share gains
              • Delivering Year 2 and 3 organic growth and profitability (Gross Profit) expansion targets
              • Achieving minimum New Equipment Gross Profit levels
              • Surpassing minimum R&D ROI objectives for the Product Line portfolio

                  • Minimum 8 years Product Manager or Business Development leadership experience with proven track record in gaining market share and delivering growth that outpaces the market
                  • Deep industry and/or technical expertise in Corrugated production and/or finishing
                  • Proven experience leading cross-functional organizations across all levels of the organization (entry-level through President)
