    What You Will Do

    This role falls within The Resource Group's Operations and Logistics Optimization Solution. Operations and Logistics Optimization is comprised of five communities working together to align inventory and data management, operational procedures, and key performance indicators, and to deliver a cost-effective, highly-efficient managed distributor model. By combining a culture of hospitality with leading operations and logistics processes and controls, these communities of skilled associates ensure resource and supply management runs silently in the background and operates in service of physicians, clinicians, leadership, and associates. The Surgical Support Services team will serve as a horizontal solution to connect case scheduling, instrument and supply consumption tracking, sterile processing, preference card management, revenue cycle, and equipment management to enhance service to caregivers and improve the surgical experience. The National Director, Surgical Support Services - Sterile Processing will serve and lead The Resource Group's Sterile Processing strategy in support of the local Surgical Support Services- Sterile Processing teams based in each market, with a focus on providing clinical direction for Sterile Processing Managers and Area Directors. The National Leader will have an extensive knowledge of Sterile Processing and the systems and data that can be leveraged to optimize the performance of these departments. This role is responsible for establishing and leading processes for instrument and equipment tracking, sterilizing supplies and instruments, and working with TriMedx on processes around equipment and instrument break/fix/repair. The role will also work closely with surgery and service line leaders to track and achieve organizational and market goals. The role works closely with leadership from Infection Prevention and other key communities to ensure that processes are beneficial for all stakeholders. This leader will also work with Trimedx and Clinical Engineering to properly utilize existing equipment and instrument repair, tracking, and forecasting systems. This position also oversees implementation of training, monitoring, and operations initiatives that assure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations. Responsibilities--
    • Develops, implements, and monitors national goals and initiatives; inspires and equips Sterile Processing teams to achieve strategic and operational goals and initiatives--
    • Develops and implements growth strategies, as well as operational, quality and savings targets
    • Collaborates with Infection Prevention leadership to create infection prevention goals
    • Collaborates with TriMedx to created processes around equipment and instrument break/fix/repair
    • Monitors budget compliance, identifies budget variances and determine strategies for national budget reconciliation--
    • Develops and maintains standards in consistent instrument and equipment quality, distribution and availability and compliance with safety and regulatory standards; initiates improvements as necessary
    • Establishes open and frequent communication with field team to assess the needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases and changes in usage patterns
    • Provides guidance, strategy, and direction to local sterile processing field teams
    • Develops and maintain relationships with Ascension Leaders to move initiatives forward and to be a resource when issues arise
    • Promotes culture of continuous improvement by encouraging identification of opportunities and resourcing the solution for identified opportunities
    • Identifies unnecessary variation across the national system to support the delivery of high quality outcomes while lowering the cost of healthcare
      What You Will Need

      Education:
      • Bachelor's degree required.
      • Master's degree HIGHLY preferred (healthcare, business, nursing, informatics, other). Work Experience:
        • 7 years of experience required.
        • 10 years of applicable experience in business, surgical services, or management consulting HIGHLY preferred.
        • 5 years of healthcare experience HIGHLY preferred.Certifications: - IAHSCMM - CHL; Certified Healthcare Leader Training - required - IAHSCMM - CRCST; Certified Registered Central Service Technician - required - IAHSCMM - CIS; Certified Instrument Specialist - optional *Can be completed post-hire; must pass the exams for these certifications but do not need to complete the work experience requirements for official certification
