Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Department Position Duties and
Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY : The Vice President for Student
Success serves as a member of the Vice Chancellor for Student
Affairs leadership team. In addition to campus leadership this
position provides district-wide leadership for the day-to-day
operations of assigned administrative units, which includes the
following: Academic Advising, Career Development Services, Student
Support Services ( TRIO ), Upward Bound ( TRIO ), and Access. The
Vice President for Student Success establishes and implements
operating procedures to facilitate recruitment, matriculation,
retention, and graduation of students. The Vice President for
Student Success implements activities which complement and enhance
academic programming of the College and enrich the academic,
social, and community-based experiences and development of STLCC
students. The Vice President for Student Success ensures programs
and services are performed in a manner consistent with Federal and
State laws, rules and regulations as well as policies and
procedures established by the College. PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED :
---Provides direct leadership to all college and career advising
programs; --- Uses national best practices and emerging research to
identify, develop, and guide innovative initiatives to improve
student retention, persistence, and timely graduation. --- Provides
leadership, guidance, planning, and implementation of initiatives
that foster inclusive excellence and equitable outcomes for all
students, with an emphasis on improving retention, graduation, and
time to degree and elimination of equity gaps for students. ---
Collaborates with partners within the Division of Student Affairs
and across the College as appropriate to leverage a coordinated
student success network to intervene with and assist at-risk/high
priority students. Establishes and monitors goals, objectives, and
key performance indicators to determine effectiveness of outreach,
opportunities for intervention, and potential improvements to
practices. Facilitates improvement to processes and practices. ---
Works closely with the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure the
coordination and planning of projects, communications, that
integrate academic areas into the student success strategy. ---
Cultivates the culture of Student Success by communicating progress
of strategic work plan and initiatives to staff across the division
and provides training opportunities as necessary. --- Participates
in the strategic planning for assigned areas and assists in
developing and implementing the overall departmental strategic
plan; --- Collaborates with other Vice Presidents to oversee the
registration and enrollment process; --- Participates in developing
and implementing policies and procedures related to student
organizations and events; --- Serves as the Chief Student Affairs
Officer of an assigned campus. Required Qualifications Master's
degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of
specialization. Seven years of professional full-time experience in
Student Affairs at a higher education institution in academic
advising, student support success programs, counseling or a related
area. Any appropriate combination of relevant education,
experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Preferred
Qualifications Earned Doctorate Ten years of professional full-time
experience in Student Services at a higher education institution.
Experience in developing systems utilizing technology and software
in the administration of student success programs.
Experience hiring and supervising professional and/or student
employees. Experience supporting racially minoritized students.
Experience with Banner, Workday, Navigate or similar software
systems. Special Instructions to Applicants The position is
