Vulcan Industries - Business Development Manager

Job Profile: Sell company's products and services by interacting with established customer base. Develop new customer accounts through generated sales leads or cold calls. Years of Experience: 3-5 years minimum

SUMMARY OF JOB

A successful Business Development Manager will create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to identify and obtain merchandising projects. This role is pivotal in driving top line revenue and profits for the company, developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients, and providing ideas and insights to assist customers by providing custom merchandising solutions. As a long-established, but rapidly growing company, success in this role is well rewarded with a very generous commission plan, in addition to the base salary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Develops and implements sales & marketing strategic and tactical plans to achieve sales growth objectives

* Gain and maintain a thorough knowledge of markets, customers & competitors

* Actively seek out new opportunities and new customers

* Develop proposals to present to clients / prospective clients

* Ideates Merchandising Solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations

* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the customers in the region

* Communicate customer needs to internal teams

* Strong communication skills that can be leveraged in group presentations and one-on-one meetings

* Oversee projects to ensure the customer experience is exceptional

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in business or other related field preferred, but not required

* 3 -5 years of business development experience, preferably for the merchandising / display industry.

* 3 or more years negotiating and building relationships with outside customers

* 2 or more years working with Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly

* 2 or more years of experience presenting in front of large audience or clients

* 2 or more years in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 1 or more years of experience in designing displays for retailers

* 2 or more years in a manufacturing environment

* 1 or more years of experience in merchandising for retailer or consumer packaged goods company

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Embrace a fast pace environment.

* Ability to communicate up to 50% of the day on the phone

* Ability to operate a computer 50% of the day

* Lift greater than 45 lbs.

* 35% or more travel required
