(BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join the
Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) in Berkeley, MO .
The selected candidate will collaborate with SMEs across the
program to develop a complex, highly integrated weapons system,
embracing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital
Engineering strategies. They will lead system architects,
engineering SMEs, and stakeholders in planning, coordinating, and
executing Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (PDR, CDR, SVR,
etc.), including artifact identification, customer and leadership
briefings, and event management. Additionally, this role owns SETR
events, leads the engineering execution of Boeing’s gated process,
completes DevEx assessments, manages the SEIT team’s RIO, and
architects the program’s problem tracking system. Balancing
technical leadership with program management, the candidate will
maintain a holistic view of the program, assess design maturity,
and communicate complex technical content effectively to diverse
audiences, including engineers, program managers, and end users.
This role requires strong communication, organization,
accountability, and the ability to lead through influence in a
fast-paced, innovative environment. Position Responsibilities
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead
activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle
balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to
evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance
requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure
compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system
architecture. Leads analyses for affordability, safety,
reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems
integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system
security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other
specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to
ensure mission success. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies
improvements the planning, organization, implementation and
monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk,
issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment
processes. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time;
Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
(U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has
been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic
Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Bachelor of Science
degree from an accredited course of study in engineering,
engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering
technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or
computer science 14 years related work experience or an equivalent
combination of technical education and experience Formal or
informal leadership (lead or manager) experience to include but not
limited to engineering leadership roles P referred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience) Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks
performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g.,
design, test, software, technology, avionics). Knowledge of the
interaction between departments/disciplines and how their
products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering
processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business) Knowledge of
various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and
systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from
multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical
information and issues impacting design, production, and support of
products, services, or other deliverables Apply interdisciplinary
and collaborative approaches to planning, designing, development,
and verification to ensure Lifecycle Balanced system of systems and
system solutions Evaluate customer and /operational needs to define
and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical
parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and
program interfaces Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
(MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language
(SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model
