Be a part of Boeing Global Services' Training Solutions team that provides industry leadership in commercial and defense aviation training and capabilities, including custom software development, engineering and technical services, and a range of services to support training centers and pilot provisioning worldwide. The Boeing Company is seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team. As an RTE you will be a servant leader and coach who oversees and optimizes the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART) using various tools. You will facilitate workshops as needed, will escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and drive relentless improvement. You will also participate in the Lean-Agile transformation and coach leaders and teams in new processes and mindsets. You will help sustain and relentlessly improve the Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) in accordance with PM&TS' needs as well as standardize and document practices. You must have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices, and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.The primary location for this position is Seattle, WA ; however, applications from other locations will be considered.This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed locations.Position Responsibilities:

  • Coaches leaders and teams in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Drives relentless improvement and assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
  • Fosters preparation of Vision, Objectives and Program Backlogs
  • Ensures backlogs are managed in accordance with defined standards
  • Tracks the execution of features and capabilities
  • Facilitates roadmap development
  • Supports inter- and intra-team dependency mapping
  • Prepares for and facilitates Program Increment (PI) Planning and overall management of the Program Increment
  • Communicates iteration and PI calendar
  • Supports the effective execution of Agile ceremonies
  • Encourages cross-functional collaboration across ARTs in PM&TS and supporting organizations
  • Facilitates synchronization events, including the ART sync, Scrum of Scrum and Product Owner Sync
  • Works with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Help manage risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Ensure standards are established and followed
  • Monitor and improve metrics for the ART
  • Manage and optimize the flow of the ARTEmployer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualification
    • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution
    • 2+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile Methodologies
    • 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery and metrics
    • 2+ years of experience in Program Management Best Practices
    • 2+ years of experience in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
    • 2+ years of experience collaborating and coordination skills
    • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role Preferred Qualification
      • Agile/SAFe training and/or certification, for example:
        • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
        • SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification (RTE)
        • SAFe Scum Master (SSM)
        • Project Management Institute- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
        • Familiarity with Azure DevOps
        • Experience in negotiation
        • Critical thinking skills
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsTypical Education/ Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.Relocation:This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
