This Grant Accountant role offers the opportunity to make a

collaboration. Job Description: The Grant Accountant will be
responsible for managing grant-related financial activities and
ensuring compliance with all grantor requirements and internal
policies. Responsibilities include: • Managing grant accounting
functions, including tracking expenditures, preparing journal
entries, and ensuring accurate cost allocations. • Monitoring grant
budgets, funding balances, and spending rates to identify variances
and ensure compliance with allowable cost principles. • Preparing
financial reports for grant funders, reimbursement requests, and
maintaining accurate supporting documentation. • Reviewing and
verifying expenses to ensure alignment with grant guidelines and
funding restrictions. • Supporting month-end and year-end close
processes through reconciliations, accruals, and detailed grant
schedules. • Assisting auditors by providing requested
documentation and explanations of grant activity. • Collaborating
with program managers to provide financial insights, clarify budget
usage, and support informed decision-making. • Contributing to
process improvements related to grant tracking, reporting tools,
and documentation workflows. • Assisting with new grant setup,
grant closeouts, and special financial projects as needed.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a
related field required. • 2–5 years of accounting experience, with
prior grant accounting, fund accounting, or nonprofit finance
experience strongly preferred. • Knowledge of grant compliance
requirements, including federal grant guidelines (e.g., Uniform
Guidance), if applicable. • Strong proficiency in accounting
systems and Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• Ability to interpret grant agreements and apply appropriate
compliance principles. • Strong attention to detail, organizational
ability, and accuracy in financial work. • Excellent communication
and collaboration skills for working with both finance and program
teams. • Ability to manage multiple grants, prioritize tasks, and
work independently with minimal oversight. • Experience with
process documentation or financial system improvements is a plus.
