The Gross Financial Group is a leading nationwide insurance and financial services firm seeking a staff accountant to join their accounting and financial team in their St. Louis office. Primary Job Function: The Staff Accountant position will work with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting. This position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of the network office and the district offices, working collaboratively with the firm's centralized accounting team. You are a fit if you: --- Have two or more years of experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance and payroll. --- Are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and technologically savvy. Knowledge of standard accounting software programs preferred. --- Thrive as an independent learner who seeks knowledge and is adaptable to change --- Succeed in an organized and detail-oriented environment --- Have a strong personal code of ethics, including maintaining confidentiality --- Possess strong presentation, persuasion, problem solving, oral and written communication skills General Responsibilities: --- Service as the liaison to the centralized accounting team for the Network and District offices, including providing all relative information related to accounts payable, payroll, and commissions --- Throughout the month, working with centralized accounting to ensure that entries into the accounting system are completed properly and on a timely basis for month-end and year-end accounting --- Educate new financial representatives on how their compensation is paid through commissions, fees and bonuses --- Monitor financial representatives' production for awards year and calendar year bonuses and communicate their progress throughout the year --- Monitor and report on the retention of policies and premiums of the network and district offices Benefits and Expectations of you: --- Obtain Life and Health licensing within 90 days --- Obtain investment licensing within one year --- Ability to commute to job Clayton, MO daily --- Work hours: Standard 40 hours, Monday-Friday --- Base salary proportionate to experience level --- Personal and professional development opportunities --- Opportunity to be part of an inclusion driven environment with the ability to impact the community through our D&I counsel and affinity group offerings --- Health, vision, and dental Insurance; Short-term Disability; Long-Term Disability, Group Life Insurance; 401(k); PTO; holiday pay; industry licensing and CE expenses; parking
