Legal Bookkeeping / Accounts Payable Specialist
Legal Back Office serves small to mid-size law firms across the United States. We are a fun and flexible team to work with and as a start-up, there is never a dull moment! Our company has been expanding quickly and we are always looking for talented individuals that want to join our team. All employees work remotely even though our corporate office is in St. Louis, MO.

This position is a highly visible role with our clients and will be responsible for bookkeeping and reconciliation accounting work for the LBO clients. We pride ourselves on creating partnerships where our clients like us and trust us. This means we don't take on ass-hole clients and we don't hire shady team members either. All of our people work hard and have the best attitudes. We also genuinely like each other and working together, even when we have to work through conflict.

We have unlimited time off for all exempt employees. Just get your job done and take off as much time as you like.
We pay 50% of the medical premiums for full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week.
We pay 100% of vision, dental and life insurance as well as we offer short-term disability coverage.
We pay a $50/month for an internet stipend since everyone works from home.
We pay a $50/month cell phone stipend so you don't have to be bothered by managing two phones and this helps you cover some of your costs.

Position Responsibilities for LBO clients:
Maintaining records and bookkeeping documentation for clients
Monthly bank reconciliations for both Operating, Savings and IOLTA accounts
Monthly credit card reconciliations
General ongoing bookkeeping
Managing accounts payable process for all LBO clients
Trust account reconciliation IOLTA
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
Keep law firm client procedures up to date in regard to the bookkeeping process.

All deadlines are expected to be met and are tracked in our project management software.
Quality work product is expected, but another team member will always be available for review of work.
Responsiveness to vendors and internal team needs.
An attitude that embraces team-work and communication that is expressed positively.
Continually learning and seeking solutions for oneself and the team is also an important part of our culture.
All employees will uphold and work in alignment with our values consistently.
High comfort level with the use of technology is expected, but training will be offered where needed.

Qualification Requirements and Preferences:
Minimum of two years trust accounting experience -required
Minimum of five -years -bookkeeping experience -required
Minimum of two years legal industry experience -preferred
Two -years -Quickbooks -Online experience
Software programs to be used in position: Quickbooks Online, Xero, Clio, Practice Panther, MyCase, Tabs3, Basecamp, Microsoft Office
Proficiency with---bookkeeping -and basic accounting procedures
Proficiency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills
