Deli Star's long-standing mantra, "it's all about the people"-- - begins internally with a people-first culture of joy, and extends to all our partners - customers, suppliers, and the community._____________________________________________________________________________________________Key Purpose:Planning, coordinating, and directing all accounting operational functions.Functions as a business partner with plant and corporate management.Direct and oversee payroll operations, payables, receivables, billing, bank reconciliations, business analysis, and financial reporting.Additional responsibilities and projects as required.Description of Responsibilities and Objectives:Planning, coordinating, and directing all accounting operational functions:Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.Implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.Managing daily banking functions and cash flow process.Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and risk management contract negotiations and administration.Complies with financial policies and procedures in coordination with company objectives.Implement financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements.Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.Manage and maintain records of loan disbursements for major purchases that include equipment and building expansion projects.Collect required records and complete the paperwork for each disbursement. This information is to be presented to the financial institution at appropriate intervals.Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.Functions as a business partner with plant and corporate management:Executes policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives.Assist in preparation for year-end audit.Coordinate activities of external auditors.Perform walkthroughs of the plant with Operations leadership to discuss production and costing issues.Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.Manage the budget process and produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.Ensures bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts and annual budget.Reviews records of major purchases quarterly.Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.Direct and coordinate Payroll Operations:Oversight of payroll.Work closely with and support Human Resources with the day to day processing of payroll.Oversight of payables, receivables, billing, bill of materials, business analysis, credit management, and financial reporting.Additional Roles and Responsibilities:Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the company's financial functions.Support company directives and Deli Star "Cultiv8"-- - philosophy.Support or assist other managers or personnel in the day to day operations of the company.Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance.CPA designation is preferred.5-10 years experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience in a food production environment is a plus.Deli Star is an Equal Opportunity Employer
