DescriptionROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provide excellent service to multistate companies with sales and use tax issues by interacting with team members and providing guidance in both structured and ad hoc settings.* Build the best-in-class Sales Tax Department from the ground up* Review sales and use compliance and provide state tax consulting, including nexus studies, technical research, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures, audit defense, reverse sales tax audits, ASC 450 reviews, technology, planning and other state tax consulting* Ensure compliance with sales and use tax requirements of various states.* Ensure the accurate filing of Sales & Use Tax returns.* Communicate with states to resolve tax discrepancies.* Plan use tax self-assessments for compliance and accuracy.* Review and verify sales tax exemption certificates* Assist AP Clerks with sales tax issues on invoices and purchase orders.* Ensure the timely filing of Business Privilege, Business Occupational and Personal Property taxes.* Report Heavy Highway IRS form 2290.* Look for ways to improve or expedite processes.* Attend meetings and training as required.* Other duties as assigned.Key ResponsibilitiesCHARACTERISTICS & ABILITIES VITAL TO THIS POSITION:* Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy of data* Ability to build professional relationships with leaders and external networks* Excellent customer service orientation* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Intuitive listener with high aptitude for learning* Results oriented and organized multi-tasker* Easily adaptable for frequently changing tasks and responsibilities* Problem solver with innovative ideas* Self-starter and not afraid to ask questions* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills* Ability to work overtime as neededExperience And Education* Audit experience with State or related audit experience a plus* Experience with standard tax applications and research tools preferred* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent* Five (5) plus years of experience in a professional services firm, including two (2) plus year's supervisory experienceLocation: Office is located at 500 South Ewing, Suite G, St. Louis, MO.All candidates agree to complete an assessment for selection and pre-employment drug screen.EOE/AA M/F/Disabled/VetBenefitsApplications Close Date Education Level Bachelor's DegreeExperience Level 5 yearsBenefitsApplications Close Date
